What does your clothing color choice say about you?

by Administrator 30. June 2009 08:23

One of the most telling features of any outfit is color. While design can tell a lot about a personality – such as whether the wearer prefers comfort or style, simple or extravagant – it is the use of color that offers the deepest insight into how we are perceived.

Black - Classic and elegant, black exhibits power, grace and confidence in modern clothing. When you sport black attire, it suggests that you are versatile, ready for anything and comfortable in your own skin.

Brown - Brown is the flagship of any earth tone ensemble, and suggests that the person wearing it is both casual & informal while still maintaining a sense of pride in his or her appearance. People tend to find individuals who are wearing brown to be trustworthy and honest.

Red - Za za zing! When you wear red, you are portraying a fiery passion for life. A red outfit also exudes a sense of dominance, confidence and leadership.

Blue - Your favorite blue clothing suggests that you are a sensitive, caring, trustworthy person. Blue also tends to be calming and portrays an overall happiness to the world.

Pink - Soft pink in modern women’s clothing portrays a sense of innocence, calmness and tranquility. Hot pinks, however, are closer to red in their personality portrayal.

White - White generally suggests a sense of professionalism and crispness when worn as the dominant color. We also tend to think white-wearers are confident as well … after all, the chances of staining that white material are pretty high!

Top 10 Fashion Trends of The 80's

by Administrator 21. May 2009 04:11
Who doesn’t love the fashion of the 80s? Modern clothing has nothing on these memorable styles. So strap on your white glove, stretch out the neckline of your favorite sweatshirt, pull on your lace camisole, and empty out an entire can of hairspray as we honor the Top 10 Worst Styles of the 1980s!

#10: The Miami Vice

You know the look – a brightly colored t-shirt under an open white suit jacket. Add some George Michael-esqe stubble, and the ladies would swoon. There’s nothing sexier than a man in a pink t-shirt and white loafers.

#9: Massive Shoulder Pads

We’re not sure whose idea it was to make the concept of women looking like broad-shouldered lumberjacks fashionable during the 80s, but for better or worse, everyone from the sexy stars of Dynasty to the station-wagon driving soccer mom down the street was doing it.

#8: Leg Warmers

With Olivia Newton-John daring us to get physical and dancing prowess of Flashdance leaving us with “What a Feeling,” it was hard not to get wrapped up in the aerobic beauty of leg warmers, leggings and a headband.

#7: Acid Wash Jeans

These speckled light jeans were bad enough as pants. But then we started acid washing our skirts, our shirts and our denim jackets – which, of course, had shoulder pads.

#6: Wearing Your Sunglasses at Night

It didn’t matter the time of the day, the position – or even existence – of the sun. If you were awake, you were wearing your sunglasses.

#5: Parachute Pants

Hammer time. Need we say more?

#4: Neon Socks … and Shorts … and Shirts … and Bracelets

We’re pretty sure automobile-pedestrian accidents must have been at all-time lows in the 80s thanks to the prevalence of bright neon, well, everything!

#3: T-shirt Clips

How novel was this idea: Take otherwise modest clothing like a t-shirt, and suddenly make it ultra-hip by adding a clip to one side.

#2: Shell Suits

The second exercise-based fashion trend to make our list, shell suits were all the rage well beyond the gym. Only in the 80s …

#1: The Mullet

The top spot on our list had to go to the mullet, which became popular – along with Bugle Boy pants and high-top sneakers – in the 1980s.
