Fashion How To's and How DON'Ts

by Administrator 2. October 2009 01:47

There are so many new fashion trends this year.  Some are a bit tricky to get a grasp on! So today we are going to help you out with two of the biggest trends this season: the Bohemian look and the Rocker Chick look.

Rocker Chick Look

This look is really fun to play around with.  You can incorporate black nails, heavy eyeliner, metal studs, ripped jeans, and lots of leather- but the main thing to remember is: not TOO much and not all at once! Here are two fantastic examples of celebrities that used the rocker chick look the RIGHT way. Lohan even looks a bit glam in this rocker chick look. Think black, studs, a hint of red, a bit of leather or ripping. Such a fun style to play around with.

Here is a perfect example of the Rocker Chick Look gone bad.  All the elements are so overdone and they just don't mesh!

Bohemian Look

This is another really popular look this season.  Once again, however, when overdone it goes from the potential of elegant to messy! You can even simply do the bohemian look just in your accessories, like pictured here with a great bohemian scarf.

We also really love a classic bohemian style dress.  Don't overdo it with the acessories when wearing this dress- less is more with this style!

Bohemian style clothing doesn't really have a rhyme or reason. It was born out of a time when people wanted to be free & unconventional. This means that almost anything goes. There isn't a strict color palette. This style can encompass any color of the rainbow. Choose fabrics that are a little muted. Look for a loose fit. Bohemian style clothing isn't tight. It should still fit well, but it includes flowy tops & long skirts or dresses. This is a fantastic way to have a complete outfit on days when you might not be feeling well, or you want to be comfortable. You definitely won't get lost in a crowd with this look. You can wear a floppy hat or a patterned shirt. If patterns aren't for you, choose a unique color. Just remember that it's easy to go overboard with most themes. Choose one really unique piece & pair it with a few basic essentials. This way you won't look like you dressed up for Halloween!
